The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality in conjunction with Nedbank launched the Enterprise Development Programme at The Business Place Enterprise Development Centre in Veeplaas today (Monday, 20 November). A total of 50 small business owners have the opportunity to improve the profitability of their businesses and to improve their skills. The courses over the next two weeks deal with Business Planning, Financial Management, Marketing & Social Media, Customer Care and Human Resource Management amongst others. Cllr Renaldo Gouws, member of the Standing Committee for Economic Development, Tourism and Agriculture, said unemployment in Nelson Mandela is rife which emphasises the importance of initiatives like these. “It is entrepreneurs like you that will help make the economy grow,” Gouws said. The Centre in Veeplaas was opened by Executive Mayor Athol Trollip last month.
